But despite the creative work he did in the field, he expended the better part of his energies on generating a greater respect and understanding of the medium and it's creators among the general public.
During his lifetime (1936-2014), he amassed a wide-ranging library of comics and comic related material, as well as an impressive collection of original art. Many of the greats from the Golden Age are represented but the majority of the pieces are by his friends and contemporaries such as Al Williamson and Roy Kernkel. Some of this work has never been seen print and a good deal has never been well reproduced.
